Cougar Alert: The College Will Resume In-Person Academic Instruction on Sept. 1

The impacts from Hurricane Idalia have moved past the Charleston region. However, certain areas of our surrounding community may remain flooded or have damage, so please exercise caution when moving about.  

The College will resume in-person academic instruction at 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 1. Business operations of the College will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Friday. 

Addlestone Library opened at 11 a.m. today and will close at midnight. Special Collections will be open from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. today. The Stern Student Center will remain closed today and will reopen Friday morning. The George Street Fitness Center will open at 3 p.m. today and close at 10 p.m.; the Johnson Center will open at 3 p.m. today and close at 11 p.m. Some dining locations, including both City Bistro and Liberty St. Fresh Food Co., have reopened with regular closing hours; other location information can be found on the dining updates page. 

Overall, our campus fared well during the storm, and work crews have been busy since early this morning cleaning up debris and checking on buildings. If you observe any damage to College facilities, please submit a work order to Facilities Management.
