UPDATE ON BELL BUILDING EVACUATION/CLOSURE Charleston Fire has assessed the Bell Building and has cleared it for re-entry. St. Philip Street has been reopened for vehicular traffic. Thank you, College of Charleston Emergency Management

The Bell Building has been evacuated due to a nitrogen release on the 4th floor. Charleston Fire is on scene assessing. The 49th running of the Cooper River Bridge Run will take place this Saturday, March 28, 2026. Approximately 38,000 participants are scheduled to be on the course, which starts in Mt.
