UPDATE ON BELL BUILDING EVACUATION/CLOSURE Charleston Fire has assessed the Bell Building and has cleared it for re-entry. St. Philip Street has been reopened for vehicular traffic. Thank you, College of Charleston Emergency Management

The Bell Building has been evacuated due to a nitrogen release on the 4th floor. Charleston Fire is on scene assessing. Currently St. Philip is closed to vehicular traffic between Vanderhorst and Calhoun. We are allowing entry and exit from PG Garage from Vanderhorst. The area should be avoided until further notice. Please be advised that traffic is congested at St. Philip Street at Calhoun Street due to City of Charleston utility work. You can access the PG Garage and WA Lot from Vanderhorst Street. Faculty, staff and students should plan accordingly and leave extra time to enter and exit parking in this area.  

The Charleston Fire Department is responding to a gas leak in the area of 78 Society Street. Please avoid the area of George and Society Streets between King and Meeting Streets.
