There are several events scheduled in the Charleston area this weekend which will have a significant impact on traffic and parking throughout downtown and near campus.
Impacts will begin on Thursday, April 30 and continue through Saturday, May 2, 2026.
Charleston Airshow
Preparations for the Charleston Airshow featuring the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will begin on Thursday, April 30 and continue through Friday, May 1.
The airshow will take place along the Charleston Harbor between downtown Charleston and Mt. Pleasant on Saturday, May 2.
Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge impacts: Traffic lanes at the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge will be heavily impacted on Thursday and Friday and the pedestrian walkway will be closed.
On Saturday, all lanes of traffic on the bridge will close from approximately 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pedestrian walkway lanes on the bridge are expected to be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Please plan alternate travel routes.
Harbor Walk impacts: Concord St. will be closed to all traffic from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Only authorized vehicles in assigned spaces will be allowed to park at Harbor Walk. There will be no unauthorized parking allowed at Harbor Walk for the duration of the show.

A Charleston Affair
A Charleston Affair is scheduled to take place on campus on Saturday, May 2. This is a sold-out event. The annual celebration welcomes new graduates into the CofC alumni family and is part of Spring Alumni Weekend 2026.
Expect significant traffic and parking impacts downtown and near campus.
Please allow plenty of time to reach your destination if you are attending these events or traveling in the area.
