The weather forecast for Charleston has improved and the College of Charleston will hold today’s commencement ceremony as planned in the Cistern Yard. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
As a reminder, umbrellas are not allowed at the ceremony. Rain ponchos may be provided by the College.
Today’s ceremony is expected to be at capacity. We ask that guests fill each row, leaving no empty seats between groups.
In order to expedite entry and provide a safe and secure environment, the College of Charleston has implemented a clear bag policy for events, including commencement. Only clear bags and small, clutch-size purses are allowed.
The College of Charleston’s Emergency Management team continues to monitor the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast. Detailed forecasts can be found on the NWS site.
The College reserves the right to alter commencement plans for the safety of graduates and their families.
Here’s everything you need to know about commencement, including information on the commencement app and how to watch from home.
Thank you,
College of Charleston Emergency Management
