Campus Advisory: OFF-CAMPUS Strong-Arm Robbery

TIMELY WARNING

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Act, the Department of Public Safety is informing the College of Charleston campus community of a Strong-Arm Robbery that took place in the immediate vicinity of campus.

Date (of offense):   7/29/2023

Time (of offense): 0900 hours

Reported to: City of Charleston Police Department

Location: Calhoun St & King St (Marion Square)

Suspect status: at large

Suspect Description: Described as a black male around 5’9 weighing roughly 200 lbs, wearing red shirt, red hat, and black jeans with several visible tattoos.

Incident Description: The victim was walking through Marion Square when the suspect pushed the victim to the ground, took the victim’s cell phone and cell phone charger and fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.
