Dear Campus Community,
The College of Charleston will delay opening campus until 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, following the South Carolina Emergency Management Division’s policy, which directs that state agencies follow inclement weather schedules of their respective counties. This delay affects all classes, labs, meetings and other activities scheduled at the downtown campus (including Harbor Walk and Avery Research Center), North Campus, Patriot’s Point, Grice Marine Lab and the Lowcountry Graduate Center.
Any class or lab that would normally be in session at 10:00 a.m. will start at 10:00 a.m. (for example, classes that start at 9:25 a.m. will start at 10:00 a.m.). These classes and labs will end at their normally scheduled times, and the College will operate on a normal schedule for the remainder of the day. All campus offices will be open as of 10:00 a.m., and all faculty and staff should be prepared to open offices and hold classes and labs as of 10:00 a.m. Essential employees such as public safety, physical plant, residence hall and food services staff should check with their supervisors regarding their work schedules.
All dining facilities will operate on a slight delay, opening at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
The library will be open by 10:00 a.m. and will resume a normal schedule at that time.
Anyone unable to be at work, please make arrangements with your supervisor.
Anyone needing assistance should contact the Department of Public Safety at 953.5611 (emergency) or 953.5609 (non-emergency).
Our office will be closely monitoring the weather conditions, and we will inform you if there are any additional changes to the College’s schedule.
