The National Weather Service has forecast thunderstorms and intense rainfall rates this afternoon which could result in flooding around downtown Charleston. The period of greatest concern is 2:30-6:00 p.m. due to high tide at approximately 1:31 p.m.

If lightning and/or high winds occur near the College, move-in activities may be suspended temporarily to ensure everyone’s safety.

If flash flooding occurs, please visit City of Charleton’s TideEye page for local road closures. Streets in downtown Charleston are prone to flooding.

Do not attempt to drive through water of unknown depth. Turn around, don’t drown.
