Campus Advisory: Flash Flood Warning

The National Weather Service has forecast several rounds of showers and thunderstorms today which will result in flooding around downtown Charleston. Today’s total rainfall is predicted to be between 1.5-2.5 inches. Locally greater amounts exceeding 4 inches are possible. Hourly rainfall rates could be as high as 2-3 inches an hour. High tide tonight is 9:04 p.m.  Areas around campus are currently not flooded, but that can change.

If flash flooding occurs, please visit City of Charleton’s TideEye page for local road closures. Streets in downtown Charleston are prone to flooding.

Do not attempt to drive through water of unknown depth. Turn around, don’t drown.
