Campus Advisory

Update: The National Weather Service has extended the Flash Flood Warning for Charleston until 3:15 p.m. today, Monday, Aug. 11.

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Charleston until 12:30 p.m. this afternoon, Monday, Aug. 11.

Numerous roads are or may be closed and water is approaching some businesses in downtown Charleston. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen and another 1 inch is possible. Flash flooding is occurring.

Please remain indoors and avoid driving if possible. Turn around, down drown when encountering flooded roads. Be aware of your surroundings and do not attempt to drive on flooded roads. High tide will inhibit runoff of heavy rain, flooding areas of poor drainage in downtown Charleston.
