Campus Advisory 2: CofC Public Safety Continues to Assist Charleston Police in Attempting to Locate Missing Student

The College of Charleston Department of Public Safety continues to work with the Charleston Police Department in their search for missing student Owen Kenney. Owen was last seen wearing a green Boston Celtics jersey Halloween costume. 

CofC Public Safety personnel are working diligently to share with Charleston Police any information that may be helpful in the search. Police ask that anyone with information on Owen’s last known activities or whereabouts contact the Charleston Police Department’s on-duty Central Detective at 843.720.2422, or submit a tip anonymously at www.charleston-sc.gov/tips. Anonymous tips may also be submitted on the College of Charleston’s Silent Witness and Anonymous Reporting page. 

At this time, there is no reason to believe that there is any danger to the campus community in relation to this case. The College’s nationally accredited Department of Public Safety is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Support for those impacted is being offered. Students can receive assistance by contacting the Counseling Center, and faculty and staff may contact AllOne Health. These resources are free, confidential and available to all College of Charleston affiliates.
